SmashKarts Tips and Tricks They Don't Tell You! (Weaponry)

SmashKarts is a FUN, yet simple game to dive into and play (developed by Tall Team)! However, there are some things you may not realize when getting into it. This article is here to remedy that and ARM you with all the Tips and Tricks to help you SMASHKARTS with more deadly precision!

The Art of Making Things Go BOOM!

EXPLOSIONS! When you shoot another player with a nuclear bomb or rockets, they take quite a bit of damage or are instantly destroyed, sent back to the spawning point from whence they emerged!

What you may not have noticed, is that even if you shoot at them and miss, and the nuke or rockets impact on something near them, there is an explosive bubble that can take them out or damage them pretty well, too! That's right, even missing could mean the difference between them killing you or you killing them---AS LONG AS they are close enough to the explosion when the bomb or rockets land. So, if you don't think you have a clear shot, you can still take a chance and shoot the wall or ground area near a player and it still deal some damage, if it doesn't take them out altogether!

This effect isn't limited to bombs and rockets, either. If a player is close enough to trigger dynamite OR is in the blast radius of dynamite triggered by others---they, too---will take damage.

LANDMINES...these little guys can take out up to 3 targets. As long as you space them out so that one player won't trigger multiple mines simultaneously, each one can bring the pain to or utterly destroy opponents!

The only issue with landmines in SmashKarts, is that sometimes players can drive super close to your mines and not trigger them. I have even seen some players drive completely over my mines and not trigger them to explode, so they received no damage nor were they destroyed. Something to be mindful of...

The Subtle Power of Cannon Balls...

While we are on the topic of weapons (in SmashKarts)...
Cannon balls from cannon fire can be launched short-range or long-range. There is also a small degree of maneuvering once you press the button to fire these bad boys, you have to keep in mind. Once you press the button to shoot the cannon balls, if you hold that button down, the range will expand to be shot further away from your SmashKart. This can be handy if there is a wall between you and another player. You can easily stop (or let the wall stop you) and fire away, pressing the shoot button and QUICKLY releasing to strike from across barriers.

While that can be discovered by simply playing the game, what draws attention here, is the subtle capabilities of this powerful tool of mass destruction! Once you press the button to fire the cannon balls, if you angle / turn your SmashKart, you can create a curvature of cannon balls so that they are shot in different directions and NOT just in a straight line. This tiny detail, when done right, can cover more ground to deliver more damage to multiple players OR have a better shot (pun intended) of hitting a moving target.

ROCKETS...this trio of death can hit multiple targets. For example: if two opponents smashed into one another while attacking each other, and you fire these bad boys at them...there is a chance to damage multiple targets at once. This attack may kill one and damage another. Then, again, it could damage both, softening them up for another MORE DEADLY STRIKE!

Machine Gun Riot!

At first glance, machine guns may not seem like a prime weapon to have in SmashKarts. Things move pretty fast and can get heated REAL QUICK in any given SmashKarts match. It would be EASY to overlook this gun as it may appear to only mildly injure an opponent as they zoom passed you.
However...
If you can follow or maneuver around a rival player with this deadly device...it is more than capable of delivering a long attack and witling down your enemy's health bar!
One thing that Took me a while to notice is that the bullets from this gun do less damage at a distance and A LOT more damage when "Up-Close-and-Personal". I prefer to lure my victims into an area where they have to slow down and be close to me when unleashing this machine of violence! I have straight-up murdered more players with this weapon than with its more powerful cousins.

One thing to be aware of about the machine gun weapon when engaging the enemy, is that it is designed to target and continue targeting (while unloading its bullets into) the NEAREST player to you. This doesn't always seem to be the case, as there have been times it will stop targeting the nearest player to me and fire at another nearby player. That, or it will stop detecting anyone near me and start shooting straight ahead of my SmashKart (which is what it does when all the other players are at a distance).
The Annoying thing about this is that you can deplete a rival player's health bar almost to destruction, and then another player will come close-by, redirecting my machine gun's attention---MANY-a-Time ROBBING me of a kill I'd otherwise have made.
LANDMINES and DYNAMITE...when planted by you appear green, while to other players they appear red. This is how you can tell which explosives you have set and which ones other players have placed for your demise!
That concludes this edition of SmashKarts Tips and Tricks You NEED to Know about the Weaponry.
There are more Tips and Tricks on the way, to give you the knowledge ammunition you need to increase your body count!
